Homeless Count 2022

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless count is returning from February 22 through 24, 2022.

The count is an annual census that helps us understand how many of our neighbors are living on the streets —on any given night.

After receiving an online training, volunteers will visually count individuals they see —  living on the streets - in vehicles, tents and makeshift shelters.

Neighborhoods in Council District 10 will be counted on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

Government agencies including LAHSA use the data collected during the count to develop strategies to determine where funding and resources will do the most good.

In light of COVID-19, organizers will also be taking every precaution to ensure that the count is conducted in accordance with public health guidelines.

This year, a new app will be used to count unhoused individuals.

As we work to establish a right to housing in the City of Los Angeles, the data from the count will help better understand the crisis and identify pressing needs.

Please do your part to help end homelessness, and that can start with volunteering on February 24th  — because everyone counts, no matter where they live.
